RRAN was amongst 325 nations that sued the Crown for collective harm of lost language, culture, heritage, and well-being in Indigenous communities throughout Canada.
RESTORING CULTURE, HERITAGE, LANGUAGE AND WELLNESS
The Four Pillars Settlement includes funding to support the 325 Bands named in the class action by creating the independent Four Pillars Society (the Society), which is a not-for-profit trust, independent of the Government. Canada and the Crown of Great Britain. The Society will provide support to programs to address the four pillars of the settlement:
- The revival and protection of Indigenous languages.
- the revival and protection of Indigenous cultures.
- The protection and promotion of heritage.
- The wellness for Indigenous communities and their members.
